By BBN Staff: Former educator and union warrior, Arcadia Carillos affectionately known as “Mama Car” or “Teacher Carrillo” has passed away.
Teacher Carillo was a stalwart supporter of the Belize National Teachers Union and demonstrated her support at union events.
Teacher Carillo shared her knowledge with generations of children in Orange Walk.
“She has been a true example of a loyal and supportive Unionist. Her dedication to the profession and to our union was overwhelming. As we mourn her passing, we pay tribute to her,” a statement from the union said.
May she rest in peace!
