eCommerce Intern – Pedestrian TV

Working two to three days per week, with the potential to go full time, the eCommerce Intern is an eCommerce all-rounder assisting with the running of a smooth ship across every touchpoint of our website, email marketing and performance marketing. You’ll never be doing coffee runs (we’re working from the soft office at the moment anyway AKA home) – you’ll be executing on tasks that have a direct effect on our brand and bottom line. This role is for someone just starting out in their career, who is ready to learn and grow in a thriving eCommerce environment. We aren’t looking for the most experienced, but instead, someone who is passionate and willing to roll up their sleeves with the rest of us and get their hands dirty.

  • You understand the nature of a start-up business and how quickly and effectively you need to be at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You have a constant thirst for knowledge and learning opportunities.
  • You might not have years of experience, but you have a passion to learn and grow in a thriving eCommerce environment.


  • At least 3-6 months of eCommerce or marketing experience in an eCommerce retail environment (internship or paid work).
  • An understanding of eCommerce and brand building.
  • An understanding of eCommerce websites, with the drive to learn more. We use Shopify, which houses thousands of SKUs and products, and requires the creation and editing of theme files, landing pages, products in bulk, automation flows, and working with third-party apps and reporting tools.
  • An understanding of inventory management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and the ability to report on digital metrics.
  • Understanding of measuring both creative and analytical digital marketing (EDM, performance marketing, web etc).
  • Understanding of email platforms.
  • Understanding of basic SEO best practice for both website and content/blog creation.
  • Understanding of basic HTML and CSS will be highly regarded but not required.
  • An intermediate level of skill across Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign will be highly regarded but not required.
  • Possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for cheeky copy and a strong distaste for bad grammar.
  • Understanding of the importance of stakeholder management, and how to effectively communicate with teams. We are a tight-knit team and require everyone to communicate their thoughts and ideas in a succinct and effective way. 



  • Assist in the day-to-day requirements of the website – content updates, landing page creation, product information, pricing and pre-order maintenance, ensuring all website information and functionality is correct and in line with The Sheet Society Brand Book.
  • Assist with onsite merchandising and maintenance of our Australian store, as well our US store launching very soon.
  • Assist with best-practice technical SEO on-site, for all products, collections, and blog articles. Executing keyword strategy though rollout and maintenance of onsite copy and product/collection title and meta information.
  • Work with the team to execute website content marketing by telling The Sheet Society’s brand story. This includes testing, site optimisation, and improving the online customer experience.


  • Assist in product launches, sales events, and marketing campaigns across all channels.
  • Ensure a consistent brand tone of voice is implemented across all online touchpoints.

Email Marketing

  • Assist with the creation of campaign EDMs in collaboration with the larger team.
  • Assist with the creation of profile segments, setting up automated email flows, and adjusting triggers as required.
  • Ensure that design, copy, content, layout, and functionality of all emails are up to current spec.


  • Assist with the compilation of daily, weekly, and monthly eCommerce and marketing results.


We are a growing business so it’s all hands on deck at certain times. This can include:

  • Inventory shipment receiving.
  • Warehouse stock takes.
  • Assisting with copywriting.
  • Order picking during sales periods.
  • Fill-in customer service.
