Seven new COVID-19 cases in NSW
Of the seven new cases six were locally acquired.
One overseas traveller with COVID-19 is in hotel quarantine.
There were 10,806 tests conducted in NSW in the past 24 hours.
“Three of the locally-acquired cases are close contacts of cases linked to the Chopstix Asian Cuisine at Smithfield RSL,” said NSW Chief Medical Officer Dr Kerry Chant.
“Two are close contacts of the case linked to our Lady of Mercy College whose source is still under investigation.
“One case that I have just referenced – attended the Sydney Girls High School at Surry Hills whilst infectious on 6, 7, 10 and 11 of August.”
The school is set to reopen tomorrow.
“Another case worked at the Parramatta Local Court and the person last attended the Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, 12 August, and the positive result was received on Saturday, 15 August,” Dr Chant said.
“As a precaution, cleaning of the courthouse took place on Sunday, 16 August, and all close contacts have been identified and are being contacted.”
