Operations Centre Officer – CMPG
Salary: £20,619 to £25,380

West Midlands Police is looking for a highly motivated individual to take up the post of Operations Assistant at Central Motorway Police Group.
You will be part of a small team working alongside Highways Agency employees.
The force is looking for candidates who are resilient under pressure, pro – active and who have excellent communication skills.
Duties will include receiving police related telephone calls and messages from both members of the public and police employees and identify the most appropriate action at the first point of contact. Also the right applicant will need the ability to deal with callers who are distressed, angry, upset or aggressive in an effective professional manner using influencing and verbal communication skills.
Assistant Chief Constable
Salary: £103,023 to £116,313 pa
Closing date: 22nd June 2020
The force is looking for up to two Assistant Chief Constables.
The successful applicants will play a key role in preparing for Coventry City of Culture in 2021 and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.
Applications are welcomed from individuals who have successfully completed the Senior Police National Assessment Centre and the Strategic Command Course.
Salary: £20,115 to £24,759

West Midlands Police is looking for motivated individuals with exceptional communication and customer service skills and experience of providing a service to members of the public.
There will be occasions when callers are distressed and their situation critical. As a Contact Officer you will take control and give reassurance, be empathetic, compassionate and supportive, whilst remaining professional.
Contact Officers will be ready to deal with 999 and 101 calls from members of the public 24/7.
The successful applicants will have the crucial task of communicating with callers and carefully recording detail of calls.
You will also handle non-urgent enquiries and provide advice to public over the telephone and via email.
Reactive Sex Offender Manager
Salary:£20,619 to £28,023
The specific role purpose will be to work as as part of a team responsible for the management of registered sex offenders, violent offenders and other potentially dangerous people.
One of the roles will be to ensure that the register of violent and sex offenders is checked regularly and amended as appropriate in accordance with data protection and operational requirements.
To provide relevant training to Force Contact staff in relation to notification requirements and to provide advice and guidance in relation to the application of civil and criminal prevention orders.
Salary: £41,739 – £45,909

You will be working for the new Head of Talent and Organisational Effectiveness, a new role within the force.
West Midlands Police recently launched a new performance management framework to leaders at all levels in the organisation, and the force now needs someone who will own, develop, drive and help embed this at all levels.
The force is looking for someone with previous experience of developing, implementing and embedding performance management frameworks and initiatives.
The right recruit will be a successful, credible and established HR professional with effective consulting and facilitation skills.
Fingerprint Development Laboratory Technical Team Leader
Salary: £29,064 to £40,698

You will play a key role within the Fingerprint Development Laboratory at the West Midlands Police Forensic Services Department.
The post holder will support the objectives of the Forensic Services Department and drive the department towards excellence within the field of Forensic Evidence Recovery.
The primary functions for the post holder will be performing the Technical Manager Duties to ensure adherence and compliance to the Quality Management System within the Fingerprint Development Laboratory.
Evidence Presentation Officer
Salary: £29,064 to £35,481

Your role will be to provide a comprehensive CCTV / imagery service to serious and complex crime investigations, to assist investigating offices and other external agencies in the prevention and detection of crime.
The successful applicant will need to provide a complete video editing service, including edited sequences, still images and video enhancement, to the highest standard,
You will need to assist investigating officers within WMP and other specific external agencies including Barristers and the CPS.
Another duty will be to assist with the production of non-forensic audio editing packages, under the guidance of the Forensic Audio Specialists and provide training to WMP staff on all aspects of CCTV.

Last year Special Constables volunteered over 20 thousand hours to support West Midlands Police.
Special Constables are integral members of the neighbourhood teams, front-line response teams, helping to support the most vulnerable victims in Public Protection, Force CID, Operations, Motorway Policing- the opportunities are endless.
WMP is looking to increase numbers as it gears up for some of the biggest events seen in the West Midlands, like Coventry becoming City of Culture in 2021 and Birmingham hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
The force needs people who want to volunteer their time to support WMP with both day to day policing and large scale operations.
